Pricing questions
Is the Starter tier a trial?
No. No card, no trial clock. Free for as long as you have 10 or fewer users.
How does Pro billing work?
Grengin Cloud is free for up to 10 users. Once a workspace passes 10, every active user is billed, including the first 10: $1.25 per user per month, one price with no annual discount. Add or remove people any time; you only pay for active users. Move to your own cloud whenever you like with a one-click export.
What counts as an active user?
Anyone with an active login to the workspace, including admins. Deactivated accounts don't count and aren't billed.
What are the storage and retention limits?
Starter: 1 GB of storage in total, and data is kept for 30 days. Pro: 1 GB per user, pooled across the workspace, so a 20-person workspace shares 20 GB, and data is kept for one year. Enterprise: whatever you need. Self-host: your storage, your rules.
Which currency will I be billed in?
Pro is priced in your local currency: EUR in the EU, INR in India, USD everywhere else. Enterprise is quoted in USD.
Do you mark up model usage?
No. Grengin connects to model providers with your own API keys, and you pay each provider directly at its published rates. We add no markup, sell no tokens, and have no credits or bundles to buy. Connect any or all of OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, Mistral, Groq and Cerebras, with one governance, cost-tracking and policy layer across them.
Can Grengin see our data?
Self-host, and Grengin is never in the data path: every request goes straight from your tenant to your model provider. On shared Grengin Cloud, and on Enterprise hosted in our cloud, we operate the app, so traffic passes through systems we run. If that is a blocker, Enterprise can run inside your own cloud account, on whichever provider you use, with the same data path as self-host. Whichever you choose, you can export and move at any time.
What support do we get?
Every option comes with the documentation and the community. Pro adds email support. Enterprise adds a named contact, an SLA and maintenance windows scheduled with you. Self-hosting and want someone to call? Support contracts are available; talk to us.
What happens if we stop paying for Pro?
Nothing is deleted. Your workspace drops to the Starter tier: up to 10 users stay active (admins choose which), the rest are deactivated, and export is available at any time. Resume billing and everyone is back.
Is self-hosting really free, or only until we grow?
Free at any size, forever. The one-click image and the source are the same software, under the Apache 2.0 license. You pay your cloud provider and your model providers, nothing to us.
Enterprise in my own cloud account or self-hosting there: what is the difference?
Both run in your account with the same data path. With Enterprise, we operate it on whichever cloud provider you use, through an access role you grant and can revoke, patch it in maintenance windows scheduled with you, and add LDAP/AD sync, custom log retention, an SLA and a named support contact. Self-hosting, you run and patch it yourself, with community support.
Can we host or resell Grengin for our clients?
Yes. MSPs, consultancies and platforms can deploy, host, resell or embed Grengin under the Apache 2.0 license, free of charge. Using the Grengin name and logo for that service needs a partner agreement, which comes with official branding, referrals and co-marketing. See Become a partner.
