Deploy Grengin on AWS
in 5 Minutes

Subscribe on AWS Marketplace and launch the Grengin image straight into your own AWS account. PostgreSQL, Nginx and SSL tooling are already installed — a browser wizard does the rest.

What you are signing up for

Grengin is never in your data path

The instance runs inside your own AWS account. Prompts, documents and model traffic go from your VPC to your model providers without passing through anything we operate.

The software is free

Grengin is open source under the Apache License 2.0, and the Marketplace image carries no licence fee. There is nothing to buy from us in order to run it.

You pay AWS, not us

Your only infrastructure bill is the compute and storage AWS meters on your own account, plus whatever you spend directly with your model providers.

From Marketplace to running, in three steps

1

Subscribe on AWS Marketplace

Accept the terms on the Grengin listing. There is no licence charge to accept — the subscription is for a free product.

2

Launch the instance

Choose your region, instance size, VPC and key pair, then launch. The image boots with PostgreSQL, Nginx and Certbot already in place.

3

Finish in the browser

Open the instance address and the setup wizard takes over — database, domain, sign-in and model keys. Then invite your team.

The setup wizard

Every install opens the same six-step browser wizard on first boot. Steps 3 to 5 are optional and can be set later.

  1. System check

Verifies the operating system, free ports, RAM, and disk.

  2. Database

Install a local PostgreSQL (the default) or connect to an existing one by host, port, user, password, and database name.

  3. Domain

Enter a domain and optionally enable HTTPS with Let's Encrypt, or claim a free *.ongrengin.com subdomain on AWS for a stable HTTPS endpoint.

  4. Sign-in and SSO Optional

Add Google or Microsoft Entra OAuth credentials, set allowed email domains, and enable just-in-time provisioning — or use Grengin's hosted SSO proxy.

  5. AI providers Optional

Paste API keys for OpenAI, Anthropic, Mistral, or Gemini, and tune retrieval options. You can add these later from the admin panel.

  6. Install

The installer generates secrets, writes config, installs the API and web app, configures Nginx, and starts the service — then shows your access URL.

Or build it from source

The Marketplace image is a convenience, not a requirement. The whole platform is Apache 2.0, so you can read it, fork it and compile it yourself.

  • Apache License 2.0 — inspect, modify and redistribute it freely
  • The same software as the Marketplace image, built from the same tree
  • Runs on RHEL- and Debian-based systems, or anywhere with Docker 24+
  • Needs Node.js and a Rust toolchain — which the Marketplace image saves you installing

Your infrastructure stays in your cloud account

  • No long-term credential storage
  • Infrastructure deployed into your AWS account
  • IAM least-privilege access
  • Enterprise-ready deployment flow

Would you rather not run the server?

Self-hosting means patching, backups and uptime are yours. Grengin Cloud runs the same software without any of that — and it starts free.
